Detail
The kind of therapy this is

This isn't a fix. This is a return.

A different kind of therapy for a different kind of exhaustion. Room to fall apart in a way that finally puts something back together. Meant for the women who have already tried "just talking about it" and know there's more work to do.

Sound familiar

You look fine. You feel far from it.

You're the one everyone leans on. You're not sure who you get to lean on.

You've been in therapy before. It was fine. It wasn't this.

Your body is saying things your mind can't quite let itself hear yet.

You're tired of coping. You want to actually feel something else.

Hi, I'm Maren

Twelve years of sitting with the things nobody else has been able to sit with.

"I do the deep work with my clients because I've done it myself. That's the whole thing."

Licensed Clinical Social Worker (LCSW-R), EMDR trained, IFS Level 2 certified. Previously at NYU Langone's Trauma & Anxiety Program. Now in private practice in Cobble Hill, Brooklyn, working with adult women on trauma, attachment, and the particular exhaustion of holding it all together.

A client's words

I've been in therapy on and off for fifteen years. I finally understand what it was supposed to be for.

Common questions

The questions I get before a first consultation.

If yours isn't here, please ask on our first call. There is no such thing as a foolish question when you are looking for the right person to do this work with.

Do you take insurance?

I'm out-of-network with all insurance companies. This is a clinical decision, not a business one. It protects your confidentiality, keeps a diagnosis out of your permanent record, and lets us practice how the work actually needs to happen. I provide detailed superbills; most PPO plans reimburse 40 to 70 percent of the session fee.

What is EMDR, in plain English?

Eye Movement Desensitization and Reprocessing. It's an evidence-based therapy that helps the brain move stuck memories out of a survival-response state and into ordinary memory. It looks like sitting across from me, moving your eyes side to side, and feeling things you didn't expect to feel. Most clients find it far more efficient than talk therapy alone.

How long does therapy usually take?

Individual EMDR-focused work typically runs six to eighteen months for a specific issue. Longer-term attachment or complex trauma work is usually two to four years. I'll give you an honest read at our consultation about what your particular situation looks like.

What's a consultation? Do I have to commit?

A 20-minute free video call so we can meet each other and see if this feels right. No paperwork, no charge, no pressure. If we're a fit, we'll book your first session. If we're not, I'll refer you to someone I trust who is.

When you're ready

The work of finally exhaling.

it starts with a phone call

A twenty-minute consultation is free. It's the beginning of finding out whether we're the right two people to do this together.
